The valleys are waking up. After another long winter of bedroom mixes and living-room dancefloors, the global psytrance tribe is once again pointing its compass toward the forests of Croatia, the lakes of Portugal, and the beaches of Greece. And summer 2026 carries something truly rare in its sky: on 12 August, a total solar eclipse will sweep across Spain — the first visible from the Iberian Peninsula in over a century. For a culture born in the Moon's shadow, this is sacred timing.

Whether you're planning your first pilgrimage or your fifteenth, here's our guide to the best psytrance festivals of summer 2026 — confirmed dates, locations, the energy you can expect, and a little help making sure you arrive dressed for the journey.

Master of Puppets 2026 wooden mammoth stage Czech Republic

Master of Puppets — 6–13 July, Czech Republic

The summer opens in the deep Czech countryside with one of the scene's most beloved underground gatherings. Master of Puppets describes itself as an inclusive haven where dark, experimental psychedelic music culture thrives — a week-long dive into forest, hi-tech, and twilight sounds for those who like their psy on the deeper, weirder end of the spectrum. Intimate, artistic, and fiercely community-driven, it's the perfect way to shake off the year and reconnect with the tribe before the giants arrive.

ZNA Gathering 2026 old-school Goa trance Montargil Lake Portugal

ZNA Gathering — 15–22 July, Portugal

With no Boom Festival in 2026, the keepers of the old-school flame gather at ZNA. Set on the shores of Montargil Lake inside a Portuguese nature reserve about 100 km from Lisbon, ZNA is a biennial, retro-futuristic celebration of 90s Goa trance — and 2026 marks its "Big Return" after a year off. Capacity is kept to around 5,000 to protect that family feeling, the stages glow with analog, hand-painted UV decor rather than modern 3D mapping, and ancient pine and cork trees shade a dancefloor where pioneers who played Anjuna Beach in the 90s still take the decks. Days are spent in the lake, nights belong to the Goa spirit. A pilgrimage for purists.

Ozora Festival 2026 main stage aerial view Hungary

O.Z.O.R.A. Festival — 24 July to 4 August, Hungary

The one that needs no introduction. Born from the 1999 Solipse eclipse gathering and held every year since 2004 in the dreamlike valley of Dádpuszta, Ozora is the beating heart of psytrance culture. The gates open on 24 July, the valley slowly fills, and on Monday night the Opening Ceremony ignites a week of music that ripples across the hills until the final farewell on 4 August.

This is twelve days of full immersion — the iconic Main Stage, the Dragon Nest for acoustic and world music, the Ambyss for ambient journeys, the Prophet's Garden for workshops, and a visionary art gallery that alone is worth the trip. Tens of thousands of "Ozorians" build a temporary city of colour and care. Come for the sound; stay for the feeling that something larger is moving through the crowd.

Mo:Dem Festival 2026 forest stage Croatia

Mo:Dem Festival — 3–9 August, Croatia

Short for Momento Demento, Mo:Dem unfolds deep in the forested canyons of Donje Primišlje, where stages are built into hillsides above the icy, waterfall-laced Mrežnica River. It's famous for two things: some of the most forward-thinking, intricate psychedelic programming on earth, and the legendary "Mo:Dem legs" you'll earn climbing between the Hive, Swamp, and Seed stages.

Entirely in-house organised — from décor to stage design to visuals — Mo:Dem is a labour of love built by a tight family of creators rather than sponsors. Note for 2026: it's the final year of the Hive Stage in its current form, so this is a chance to dance in a piece of history before the next chapter begins.

Sizigia Eclipse Gathering 2026 total solar eclipse and Flower of Life Spain

Sizigia Eclipse Gathering — 10–14 August, Spain

The crown jewel of the summer. On 12 August 2026, a total solar eclipse will cross northern Spain — the first on the Iberian Peninsula in over a century — and the global "Eclipse Tribe" is converging on the shores of the Embalse de la Sotonera in Huesca, Aragón, to stand within the Moon's shadow.

This is the same lineage that gave birth to Ozora: the modern psytrance eclipse tradition began at the 1999 Solipse gathering in Hungary, and it has followed totality across Oregon, Texas, and beyond ever since. Now it returns to Europe. Produced by the respected Own Spirit team, Sizigia is a five-day, three-stage journey — Origen for full-spectrum psytrance, Ombra Sonora for the dark underground, and Lumina for downtempo and organic sounds — all building toward a single cosmic moment when the music falls silent and day turns to dusk. The eclipse night even coincides with the peak of the Perseid meteor shower. This is a one-time event, in one exact place, that will not repeat. If your soul resonates with sacred geometry and celestial alignment, this is the gathering of the decade.

Free Earth Festival 2026 beach psytrance stage Greece

Free Earth Festival — 24–30 August, Greece

The only psytrance festival in Europe held directly on the beach. Free Earth returns to Asprovalta on the Strymonian Gulf, about an hour from Thessaloniki, for its 9th chapter — and for the Mediterranean tribe (Israel very much included) it's the most accessible deep-psy gathering of the season. Picture dancing with sand between your toes on the Enlightenment Stage, cooling off in the Aegean between sets, then drifting back under a late-August sky. Three stages span progressive to full-on to the organic forest sounds of the Parvati Stage, with a strong sustainability ethos and a family-friendly, grown-up vibe. Equal parts Greek summer holiday and psychedelic ritual.

Indian Spirit Festival 2026 main stage Germany

Indian Spirit Festival — 26–31 August, Germany

Germany's largest psytrance festival and the European season's grand finale. Set on the wide meadows of Eldena, Indian Spirit has grown from an intimate early-2000s gathering into a world-renowned celebration of love, dance & trance. Two primary hubs — the Sun Stage for progressive and offbeat, the Moon Stage for a non-stop sonic journey from Thursday to Monday — are wrapped in world-class lasers, handcrafted Goa décor, and glowing mandalas. Beyond the dancefloor, a vast Healing Area offers yoga, workshops, and rest, while the Market Mile hums with art and global street food. A high-production, deeply welcoming farewell to summer.

Hadra Trance Festival 2026 main stage France

Hadra Trance Festival — 27–30 August, France

France's flagship psychedelic event closes the season in Vieure with four days of progressive, dark-prog, full-on, and forest psytrance — plus an alternative stage blending techno, drum & bass, dub, and world music with live instrumentation. Hadra is praised for its well-rounded cultural program: a healing zone by day, a dreamy psychill refuge by night, and a creative village full of artisans, circus arts, conferences, and workshops. A heartfelt, community-driven send-off for the Western European tribe.

A note on Boom Festival: Portugal's transformational giant runs every two years, and 2025 was a Boom year — so there's no Boom in 2026. The next edition is expected in 2027. This summer, ZNA carries the Portuguese torch.

What to Pack: Dress for the Journey

A festival outfit isn't just clothing — it's the second skin you'll live in for a week of dancing, sun, dust, and starlit nights. Here's how the SOL tribe prepares:

  • Breathable layers for the dancefloor. Long days demand light, moisture-wicking fabric. Our psychedelic t-shirts and tank tops are built for movement and printed with sacred-geometry artwork that comes alive under festival lights.
  • Sun and water ready. For beach gatherings like Free Earth, boardshorts take you from the dancefloor straight into the sea. For the women of the tribe, leggings and loose tops move with you from sunrise yoga to peak-hour sets.
  • Carry what matters, hands-free. A sling bag or pocket belt keeps your phone, cash, and essentials safe and close while you dance.
  • Stay hydrated, stay conscious. A refillable stainless steel bottle and a trusty hip flask are festival non-negotiables — kinder to the planet and to your morning self.
  • Shade and storage. Top it off with a cap for the midday sun — and don't forget eclipse glasses for Spain — plus a backpack sturdy enough for a week of camping.

See You in the Valley

Every summer, these gatherings remind us why this culture endures: music as ritual, art as language, strangers as family. And in 2026, the sky itself joins the dance. Wherever the season carries you — a Czech forest, a Portuguese lake, a Spanish shadow line — may you dance lightly, leave no trace, and return with your heart a little wider.

From all of us at SOL — Seed of Life, see you on the dancefloor. ✶
