Flap Backpacks
Flap backpacks in printed canvas — a wide top flap that folds over the main compartment and buckles down, so the bag closes without a zipper to jam. Cut from the same artwork as the rest of our backpack range.
Why a flap and not a zipper
A zipper is the first thing to fail on a bag that lives in dust and sand. A buckled flap has nothing to break, opens wide enough to see the whole compartment at once, and can be closed one handed.
What it carries
A day's worth: water, a jacket, a towel, a camera. It is a day pack rather than a travel pack, sized to be comfortable on your back from morning to late night without a frame.
Printed cotton canvas
The pattern is printed into the fabric, not applied to the surface, so it does not crack or peel where the straps rub. Canvas takes rain and dries, and it softens rather than degrades.
Handmade, one at a time
Each bag is cut from a large printed sheet, so the section of pattern on your bag belongs to that bag alone. Straps and flap stress points are reinforced.
