Music drawn out
Solmization is the system that turns pitches into syllables — do, re, mi. Turning the same intervals into spacing gives a pattern with rhythm built in rather than imposed.
Rhythm over symmetry
Most of our prints are symmetrical. This one is not: it repeats, but with the uneven spacing a scale actually has, which makes it feel like it is moving forward.
