Diploria

Brain coral — the maze-like ridges of Diploria, drawn as a repeating field. Fourteen pieces carry it, including t-shirts.

A maze grown, not drawn

Brain coral builds valleys and ridges that look exactly like a labyrinth, and no two colonies are alike. The pattern follows how the coral actually grows rather than imposing a grid on it.

Named properly

Diploria is the genus. Using the real name rather than calling it brain coral is a small thing, but it is the difference between a pattern that was looked at and one that was guessed.

What it comes on

T-shirts, shirts and accessories. The flowing ridges suit soft fabric that moves.
