Arabesque — the flowing interlaced ornament of Islamic art, built from vegetal scrolls that repeat without end. Nine pieces carry it, including button up shirts.
Infinite by design
Arabesque was developed to suggest the infinite: the pattern has no natural stopping point, and the eye is meant to follow it rather than land. That is a rare intention in ornament and it transfers perfectly to fabric.
Ours, in the tradition
Drawn from scratch following the construction rules of the form rather than copying any specific work. The vocabulary is centuries old and shared; the drawing is ours.
What it comes on
Button up shirts, t-shirts and accessories. The fine interlace needs a woven fabric to hold its detail.
